Biography

Senior associate consultant Michael T. Gunter, PE, EVP, has more than 35 years of heavy industrial experience as a mechanical engineer, project manager, project director, turnaround director, maintenance director, engineering director, executive leader, and consultant. He possesses expertise in all stages of project development, particularly in the petroleum refining and midstream industry sectors, from contracting and strategic planning to engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Mr. Gunter has led and managed challenging expansions and capital programs, including project development and EPC execution in the petroleum refining and midstream industries. His industry experience includes managing petroleum refinery routine and turnaround maintenance and engineering programs as well as performing mechanical engineering in the power generation and petroleum refining industries. As a consultant, Mr. Gunter has worked on matters involving petroleum refineries, LNG, and petrochemical facilities, where he provides expert analysis of project and construction management standard of care, technical issues, project costs, and schedule delays.
